By Imam Murtadha Gusau Wednesday, Shawwal 6, 1439 AH (20/06/2018) In The Name Of Allah, The Most Gracious, The Most Merciful All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad is His Servant and Messenger. Dear Brothers and Sisters! A little boy came running to his mother crying with a request: “Jarir and Mughiz have both got new clothes for Eid! Please, can I have some new clothes as well?” The mother picked him up and wiped his tears. Their mother, Fatimah Bint Abdul Malik (RA), was no ordinary woman. Her father, grandfather and each of her four brothers were at one time or another Caliph and leader of the Muslim Ummah. In fact, her own husband was the present Caliph, Umar Ibn Abdul Aziz (RA) – who ruled the world’s largest empire that stretched from the Atlantic to the Indian oceans. She promised him that she would check with his father to see if he could have new clothes for Eid. When Umar

Bismillah Rabbi Zidnee Ilman “My Lord! Increase me in knowledge.” In Ramadān, your period isn’t just “that time of the month” anymore. Now we are in the month of all months. The month we have been anticipating to finally recharge our spiritual battery. Then it happens. And suddenly, we can no longer perform Taraweeh and regular prayers, fast with the rest of the family, and hold the Qur’an. And Allah-forbid it happens in the last 10 days! Thinking in this way can really make you a Muslimah feeling down, and cause you to miss out on even more opportunities to build a closer relationship with Allah (Subhanahu wa ta’aala) . This is not bad luck that happened to us – Allah ordains everything, even a leaf falling from a tree. And He tells us, “for every matter there is an appointed time given.” {Surah Ar-Rad 13:38} So then there must be Hekma , a divine wisdom from Allah, behind our menses and their timings. Seeing those around us going for Taraweeh and breaking their fasts doesn’t m

Bismillah Rabbi Zidnee Ilman “My Lord! Increase me in knowledge.” What is Ibadah?! The term “Ibadah” (worship) in Islam is not only confined to the pillars of Islam as it comprises many other goodly aspects. Allah [Exalted be His mention] says [what means]: “And I did not create the jinn and mankind except to worship Me.” {Surat Adh-Dhariyat 51: Verse: 56} Many people mistakenly understand the term “worship” to mean living an ascetic way of life. This is not true at all. In Islam, worship is not [only] restricted to prayer, going to the masjid, giving in charity, or going for Hajj, as one can even turn permissible acts such as sleeping, eating, drinking, going to work, etc. into an act of worship. How is that?! By having a good intention!  So, if one sleeps with the intention to rest his body so he can have more energy to worship Allah then this is a good intention.  If one goes to work so he can provide for his family and those under his care, then this is a good intention wh

Good conduct & character in Islam

BEING A LECTURE DELIVERED BY ABU-FAAIZ “Indeed in the  Messenger of God  you have a beautiful example of conduct to follow…” (Quran 33:21) Islam  is not only a religion instead it’s a beautiful way of life. Islam states that one can achieve higher ranks through his/her good conduct. Our beloved prophet hazrat Muhammad (pbuh) was best in his character and is a role model for whole humanity. Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) “Through his manners and good conduct, the believer can attain the status of a person who frequently fasts and prays at night.” (Abu Dawud) In fact Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) mentioned  good conduct as a best form of worship. On the Day of Resurrection, nothing will be heavier in the scale (of good deeds) of the believer than good conduct.  God hates the one who swears and hurls obscenities.” (Abu Dawud, Al-Tirmidhi) Good character is a key of pleasing ALLAH and his beloved prophet . By maintaining good character, one can be beloved servant of ALLAH.  The

Bismillaahir Rahmaanir Raheem Narrated 'A`ishah (May Allah be pleased with her) reported: Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, "An army will raid the Ka`bah and when it reaches a desert land, all of them will be swallowed up by the earth.'' She asked; "O Messenger of Allah! Why all of them?'' He answered, "All of them will be swallowed by the earth but they will be raised for Judgement according to their intentions.'' [Al-Bukhari and Muslim]. Commentary:  Everyone will be rewarded or punished according to his aim and intention. This Hadith also proves that the company of depraved persons is extremely dangerous. Whose army would it be, which has been referred to in the Hadith, and when will it invade Ka`bah, is a matter known to Allah Alone. Such prophecies are a part of the Unseen world. Since they come in the category of the miracles of the Prophet (PBUH), it is necessary to believe in their veracity and occurrence. Believing in such proph

Bismillaahir Rahmaanir Raheem Allah, the Exalted, says: "And they were commanded not, but that they should worship Allah, and worship none but Him Alone (abstaining from ascribing partners to Him), and perform As-Salat (Iqamat-as-Salat) and give Zakat, and that is the right religion.'' (98:5) "It is neither their meat nor their blood that reaches Allah, but it is piety from you that reaches Him.'' (22:37) "Say (O Muhammad (PBUH) ): Whether you hide what is in your breasts or reveal it, Allah knows it". (3:29) Narrated 'Umar bin Al-Khattab (May Allah be pleased with him), reported: Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, "The deeds are considered by the intentions, and a person will get the reward according to his intention. So whoever emigrated for Allah and His Messenger, his emigration will be for Allah and His Messenger; and whoever emigrated for worldly benefits or for a woman to marry, his emigration would be for what he emigrated for
